I knew it was coming, just not when...
Yep, it's duckling season in the pool again!
For each of the past four years in Lewes, DE, I've been greeted during my summer morning laps by a Mama Duck and her tiny ducklings swimming in the community pool.
As the first one there, I feel it is my duty to help rescue them and relocate them to a nearby pond.
Today was the day!
Three adorable ducklings were paddling behind their mama.
I hopped in, gently wrangled them into a soft net held by the pool tech, and we safely moved them to a pond across the street, with Mama Duck waddling close behind.
After my swim, I checked on them - happy and settled in their new home!
For fun, I asked AI to write a song about my duck-wrangling adventures, and it delivered this surprisingly catchy country ditty!
